PID DG dies of cancer

LAHORE, Dec 17: Ms Farzana Qureshi, Director-General, Press Information Department (PID), died after losing her battle against cancer here on Saturday, family said.

Ms Farzana, 56, was posted as press minister in Pakistan embassy, London, recently but she could not proceed to the UK due to health problems. As her illness grew serious, she was admitted to Shaukat Khanum Hospital where she expired.

She had also served as press counsellor in Pakistan embassy in Kuala Lumpur. Her funeral procession will leave from 9-Ghalib Colony, Nadeem Shaheed Road, Samanabad, at 10 am on Sunday (today).—APP
