Naveed, Tanvir rescue ZTBL

LAHORE, Dec 16: A fine 91 by Naved Qureshi and an unbeaten half-century by tailender Tanvir Ahmed propelled Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) to a fighting first innings total of 259 against PTCL in Patron’s Trophy Grade I at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad on Friday.

Naved and Tanvir (58 not out) put on 133 for the ninth wicket after ZTBL were reeling at 6-63.

Naved, who cracked 18 boundaries in 142-ball knock, also steadied the innings with seventh wicket stand of 60 runs with Adnan Akmal (39).

Pacemen Tahir Mughal (4-71) and Muhammad Khalil (4-76) claimed the bowling honours for PTCL.

By close of play, PTCL had lost two wickets for three runs.
