A special Father’s Day

This is with reference to the story “A special Father’s Day” by Memoona Mukhtar (YW, June 18). Father’s Day is a holiday honouring fatherhood and paternal bonds.

A father is neither an anchor to hold us back, nor a sail to take us to our destination. Instead, he is a guiding light whose love shows us the way and protects us from storms and comforts us in darkness.

A father does his best to give us a decent and comfortable life. He is someone you look up to, no matter how tall you grow. So love your father and respect his struggle and sacrifices for your better life.

Poet’s corner

This is regarding the Poet’s corner section. I am fond of reading poems from the budding poets of our country in this section. It is always surprising to see how kids write amazing rhyme and come up with imaginative poems.

Recently, I found one such poem, “Jump over a lake” by Alisha Khan (YW, July 9), it was quite different from the other poems I have been reading in the section. The poem depicted a story, a dramatic one and that’s why I liked it very much.

Young World is a great platform for kids to showcase their skills and talent through their writing, I appreciate the team of YW in bringing out an amazing magazine.

Hobbies you can enjoy

This is regarding cover article “Hobbies you can enjoy” by Zara Ahmed (YW, June 11).

Having a hobby has several benefits. It makes you relax mentally, boosts your confidence and brings out your creativity. One of the positive aspects of having a hobby is that you feel good about what you are doing and it gives you a sense of fulfilment. So whatever your hobby may be — gardening, painting, cooking, writing, sculpting, sewing, etc. — just keep doing it.

In my opinion, a person who has a hobby enjoys life and spends their time wisely.

Know your worth

This is with reference to the story “Know your worth” by Rebecca Bijarani (YW, July 16). It was an amazing story for all those who feel they are inferior to others.

The underlying message in the story was that no matter what you do, people will always criticise you. So, the key to living a satisfying and happy life is that you should never pay heed to the comments of others and live the way you want, also accept the way you are.
