Paralympics: NWFP emerge champions

PESHAWAR, Dec 15: NWFP grabbed 22 medals to emerge as champions of the third National Paralympics Athletics Championship which concluded at the Qayyum Sports Complex on Thursday.

The third day leader in the four-day event, Islamabad got second position by winning 12 medals, six gold, five silver and one bronze (in relay race), followed by Punjab with eight medals while Balochistan took fourth position with one gold, and two bronze medals.

Final positions:

NWFP 8 gold, five silver and nine bronze medals: (22 medals)

Islamabad took six golds, five silver and 1 bronze medals: (12 medals)

Attock got two golds, 3 silvers and four bronzes medal: (9 medals)

Lahore, two golds, 2 silvers, 4 bronzes: (8 medals)

Dera Ismail Khan, 3 golds, two silvers, and two bronze medals: (7 medals)

Faisalabad, one gold, two silvers and one bronzes medal: (4 medals)

Quetta, one gold and two bronze medals

Turbela two silvers

Larkana one silver medal.
