KOHAT, Dec 13: Police booked a union council nazim and 13 other protesters on Tuesday for damaging an under-construction school building and blocking the main Indus Highway here.

The Nazim of the Surgul union council, Gulzar Khan, and a large number of people were accused of damaging a girls’ school building during a protest demonstration against the shifting of the school from the village on Monday.

The road was opened to traffic after the district nazim, Seth Gohar Saifullah, assured the protesters that the school would be built in the village. The Saddar police registered a case against the UC nazim and 13 other protesters on the complaint of contractor Wali Mohammad.
