KARACHI: The city on Monday received light to moderate rain that turned the weather pleasant.

The Met Office said that city suburbs received moderate downpour, but almost all major areas of the metropolis witnessed light rain/drizzle.

City weatherman Dr Sardar Sarfaraz told Dawn that intermittent rains were reported from Gadap City, Bahria Town, DHA City on Superhighway (now Motorway-9), Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Sharea Faisal, North Karachi, Taiser Town and Nazimabad.

The rain count issued by the Met Office in the evening said that Surjani Town received the highest amount of rainfall i.e. 27.2 millimetres followed by 24.3mm in Gulshan-i-Maymar and 16mm in Gulshan-i-Hadeed.

Only traces were recorded in majority of the areas.

Dr Sarfaraz said that intermittent rains might continue in the city during the next two days.

On Monday, the weather remained hot and dry and maximum temperature was recorded at 36.5 degree Celsius.
