NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Security forces have killed seven terrorists during an encounter with militants in North Waziristan tribal district on Sunday, the military’s media wing said.

The Inter-Services Public Relations said that the exchange of fire took place between the security forces and terrorists in the Ghulam Khan Kalle area of North Waziristan district. Troops effectively engaged the terrorists and resultantly seven of them were killed, according to the ISPR statement.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the terrorists, who remained actively involved in several activities against security forces, the statement added.

During an intense exchange of fire, Subedar Munir Hussain, 44, resident of Parachinar, Kurram, and Havaldar Babu Khan, 38, resident of Dera Ismail Khan, having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom.

Area clearance is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the vicinity.

Just a day ago, security forces killed four suspected militants during an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan district. The ISPR while confirming the killing said they were involved in attacks on security forces and other acts of terrorism.
