QUETTA: Pre-monsoon rains have wreaked havoc in parts of northern and central Balochistan, causing heavy floods and damage to crops and properties.

Separately, a 5.1 magnitude quake rocked the northern half of the country, being felt in Peshawar, Islamabad, Lahore and other parts of KP and Punjab.

Over a dozen people were killed in rains-related incidents in Balochistan.

In Kohlu, the road connecting the locality with Quetta was swept away by flooding and several bridges were damaged, the PDMA said in a statement on Tuesday. Floods also swept away electricity poles in Kohlu and the downpour in Barkhan damaged crops.
