NORTH WAZIRISTAN: A soldier was martyred and two others suffered bullet injuries when security forces came under attack during a search operation in the Kher Kali area near Miramshah on Saturday.

A suspected militant was also killed when the security personnel retaliated against the attack, according to sources.

They said that the security forces challenged the suspected militants and ordered them to surrender, but they opened fire on the security personnel. As a result, Naik Zahid was martyred on the spot, while Sepoy Numan and Sepoy Nadeem were injured.

The security forces returned the fire, killing one of the attackers. The deceased was identified as Ziaullah.

The sources claimed that security forces recovered a huge cache of arms and explosives from the possession of the attackers.
