LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on Wednesday arrested a Grade-20 officer of the Communication and Works Department on charges of receiving Rs9.4 million bribe.

According to the ACE, chief engineer Wasim Tariq, a front man of former chief minister Usman Buzdar’s principal secretary Tahir Khursheed, had received Rs9.4m as bribe from a contractor.

“Further investigation against the suspect is underway in securing bribes in other contracts,” it said.

A case has been registered against the suspect.
