ISLAMABAD: At least five persons were injured during robbery incidents in capital on Saturday, police said.

Two armed robbers entered a house in Dhok Darzian while their four members stayed outside the house to provide them security.

When the family started screaming for help, the two robbers attacked Mehmood and his sons and injured them.

The villagers rushed to the house after hearing the screams and found four armed persons standing outside the house, the police said, adding that the culprits attacked two villagers and injured Mohammad Zahoor.

They also fired in the air and escaped from the spot, the police said, adding that however the two culprits who entered the house were overpowered and later handed over to police.

In another incident, three armed men intercepted and held up Qamar Zaman in Dhok Kala Khan and asked him to hand over cash and valuables, the police said, adding when he moved his hands to hand over a mobile one of the robbers opened fire on him.

As a result he sustained a bullet injury in his abdomen, they said, adding that the robbers escaped from the spot.

The injured was taken to hospital.

Moreover, four persons armed with weapons raided a House of Syed Ali Shah in B-17, the police said, adding they introduced themselves as FIA officials and asked for search by alleging that he kept weapons in the house.

Later, the detained the family in a room and searched the house for over 25 minutes, they said, adding that during the search they looted gold ornaments weighing 55 tolas, cash Rs800,000, two diamond sets, and a diamond ring and later left from the house.

Likewise, some persons intercepted and held up Qari Hanif Malik, an Imam of Nescom Hospital when he was leaving the mosque after leading Maghrib prayer, the police said, adding that they introduced themselves as policemen and also showed police service cards and asked for search.

During search they snatched his purse carrying Rs36,000 cash and pushed him, they said, adding that as a result the Imam fell on road, and the culprits escaped from the spot.
