DERA GHAZI KHAN: A man allegedly killed his sister and a youth for “honour” with the help of his accomplices and later threw their bodies into the River Indus in the jurisdiction of Bangla Iccha police station in Rojhan Mazari tehsil of Rajanpur district on Tuesday.

According to the police, Jameel, a resident of riverine area of Sabzani, with his accomplices killed his sister ‘Z’ and a youth, Fiyaz, over suspicion of having relations.

After killing them, the suspects threw the bodies into the River Indus.

On being informed of the incident, Bangla Iccha Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ghulam Murtaza, with police and Rescue 1122 teams, is leading a search operation to

find the bodies in the river, while the alleged killers are still at large.

The police have registered a murder case against the suspects.

CONFISCATION ORDER: Excise Director has issued notices for the confiscation and sale of the Bank of Punjab’s (BoP) property to recover Rs16,054,705 token fee on the bank’s vehicles.

DG Khan Excise and Taxation Department Collector/Director Muhammad Asif has issued orders and warrants for sale of the bank’s property by attaching the relevant documents.

The director said that 1,454 vehicles of the BoP, DG Khan division, were token tax defaulter.

He said the recovery of the token fee could not be made despite the visit of the E&T staff and serving legal notices.

He said the action had been taken under Section 11 (1) (2) of the Motor Vehicles Taxation Act.

He said indiscriminate proceedings would be continued till the recovery of the tax amount.

MPA BOOKED: Darhama police have registered a case against a member of provincial assembly of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and his brother for allegedly hoarding fertilisers.

As per official sources, a team led by Agriculture Extension Assistant Director Muhammad Kaleem Kooria conducted a raid on fertilisers warehouse owned by Rafiq Pitafi, brother of PTI MPA Hanif Pitafi.

The sources said the raiding team found 1,000 bags of fertilisers allegedly hoarded in the warehouse.

On knowing about the raid, PTI MPA Hanif Pitafi also reached the spot and tried to convince the officials that the fertilisers stock kept in the warehouse was declared. However, the MPA and his brother could not produce relevant legal documents regarding sale and purchase of the fertilisers.

On the assistant director’s complaint, Drahma police registered a case against the MPA Hanif Pitafi and his brother Rafiq Pitafi under sections 10, 13 and 16 of The Punjab Fertiliser (Control) Order 1973.

No arrest was made so far.
