TIMERGARA: Most of natural springs, wells and streams have dried up in Lower Dir due to drought-like situation.

Residents told Dawn on Monday that people in different areas of Jandol were facing severe water shortage and had to fetch the commodity from distant places. They said people were also offering special prayers for rain.

Similarly, people in Talash and Adenzai areas also complained the underground water table had dropped and most of the wells dried up as number of boring wells had increased tremendously.

The residents demanded of the Pesco authorities to ensure smooth power supply so that drinking water supply scheme could be run daily.
