SUKKUR: Four policemen held hostage by outlaws were safely rescued in a police operation conducted in the katcha area on the outskirts of Kandhkot-Kash-more district, police said on Friday.

The armoured personnel carrier (APC) which was also captured by the outlaws was recovered, they added.

SSP Amjad Ali Sheikh told a private channel on Friday that several police teams were currently

conducting an anti-dacoits operation in the Gablu area.

He said that the APC along with its occupants was taken away at gunpoint by a heavily armed gang recently. A major operation was conducted to get the APC recovered and the personnel freed, he added.

It was not known that for how many days the policemen remained in captivity.
