KARACHI: The Ferozabad police on Thursday evening lodged an FIR against owners/proprietors of ‘Chase Departmental Store’ on charges of manslaughter and others on the complaint of an official of the Sindh Building Control Authority.

The suspects nominated in the FIR are identified as Adeel, Fahad and Faraz.

According to contents of the FIR, the basement of the building was reserved/approved for car parking, but it was misused by the owner/proprietor of the Chase superstore for a ‘warehouse’, which was established on the ground floor where the fire incident took place on Wednesday at 11.30am, claiming life of one person and injuries to a few others due to suffocation caused by the intense smoke.
