ISLAMABAD: The best women’s hockey players in the world will feature in Hockey Women’s World Cup, which starts on July 1.

The 15th edition of the event will be staged in Terrassa, Spain, and Amsterdam, Netherlands, the International Hockey Federation said Wednesday.

The opening match of the World Cup will see hosts Spain facing Canada, on July 1.

The participating teams of the 16-nation showpiece have been divided into four pools of four teams each.

Pool A: Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, Chile.

Pool B: England, New Zealand, India, China

Pool C: Argentina, Spain, Korea, Canada

Pool D: Australia, Belgium, Japan, South Africa.
