RAWALPINDI: All Pakistan Clerk Association (APCA) on Saturday threatened to stage a sit-in in front of Parliament House if their demand to increase salaries by 100pc not increased in the new fiscal year.

They will stage hunger strike camp in front of Highways department offices Civil Lines on May 31 to press the government to increase the salaries and pension by 100 percent in next fiscal year 2022-23.

Chaudhry Waheed Murad Gondal, APCA Divisional President, told Dawn said that the APCA meeting held in Lahore on May 21 decided to start country wide hunger strike for their demands as the live of common man made difficult in last four years and Punjab government had done nothing.

“We demand to increase the salaries by 100 percent, end the ad hoc relief and make it part of the salaries as in past four years, Punjab government failed to give any relief to its employees,” he said.

He said they also demanded to give group insurance to Punjab employees like it was given to federal government employees and other provinces.

He said that no upgradation was given to Punjab government employees but in other provinces, the employees were given their due upgradation in their pay scales.

He said that the medical allowance of Punjab employees was less and we demand to increase Rs10,000 at least.

He said that services of all the contract employees would be regularised as per promise made by last government of the PML-N.
