I always love making crafts from craft sticks as they are just very versatile, with which you can make a lot of decorative as well as school stationary items.

Today, we are making an easy, yet aesthetic flower vase which can be used to put artificial flowers or can be used as a small real plant pot holder. If not these, you can even use it as your pen/pencil holder.

Things you need

  1. Craft sticks: large size, 16
  2. Jute rope: two metres
  3. Hot glue
  4. Artificial flowers
  5. Scissors

  1. The craft is very easy to make. You will need eight full-length sticks, four one-inch smaller than the larger ones, and four cut in half; in total 16. Picture 2

  2. Place two large sticks in the traditional plant pot shape, right and left, then one-inch smaller stick on the top of the larger ones and then the smaller one at the bottom, see picture 3.

  3. Make four such sets of sticks and paste them with hot glue. Now you have all four sides of the vase ready, picture 4.

  4. Take the jute rope, cut it in small pieces according to the size of the space between the large sticks; paste the rope piece diagonally, picture 5.

  5. Keep pasting the rope pieces diagonally and then cross them diagonally, making a crisscross shape, picture 6.

  6. Repeat the previous step on all four sets of craft sticks, picture 7.

  7. It’s time to join these sets to each other, pictures 8, 9.

  8. Our craft stick flower vase is almost ready, all you need is to secure the bottom of the vase; for which you can either use cardboard piece or sticks; I used sticks, see picture 10.

  9. Put your favourite flowers inside and place the vase wherever you like.
