RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has informed all those passengers who are travelling from Jeddah to Pakistan that its flight operation will be shifted back to the Jeddah airport’s northern terminal from May 28.

It said PIA’s flight PK-760 will be the last one to depart from the Haj terminal on May 27. Earlier this month, the Jeddah airport management had shifted PIA flights to the airport’s Haj terminal to facilitate Pakistani Umrah pilgrims as the spacious Haj terminal has the capacity to accommodate more passengers.

A PIA spokesperson said that massing of passengers at the northern terminal happened after the number of travellers increased owing to Umrah pilgrims. Due to crowding, passengers were facing difficulties in check-in as there were only four boarding gates at the northern terminal that were insufficient to handle the large number of travellers. Later, the situation at the Jeddah airport was normalised with the shifting of passengers to the new Haj terminal.
