GUJRAT: A sub-inspector of Gujrat police was gunned down by some unidentified armed men near Khawaspur village of Lalamusa Saddar police precincts on Monday.

Police said Mian Afzaal was on his way home after attending an inquiry of a murder case in Lalamusa when he was shot at by armed men. He died on the spot.

The SI and his son who is also a police constable had been booked for murdering Ahsan Warraich, the owner of a Marquee, near Jalalpur Jattan around a year ago and were on bail.

Police said old enmity might be the motive behind the killing.
