BAJAUR: Ten stone crushing plants were sealed on Monday for illegally operating in and around the residential areas here.

According to a statement issued from the deputy commissioner’s office, the action was taken by a team led by assistant commissioner Hamza Zahoor.

All the sealed stone crushing plants were located in different areas of Khar tehsil in violation of rules and regulations of the directorate of industries and commerce, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

It said owners of the sealed plants had been issued warnings by the administration several weeks ago asking them to legalise their units, but they did not budge, forcing the action.
