QUETTA: District and Sessions Judge of Kalat, Bashir Ahmed Badini, on Saturday handed down life imprisonment and a fine of Rs200,000 each to three convicts in a child murder case.

According to prosecution, Noman, Ehsanullah and Shoaib had killed the child in Kalat a year and a half ago after subjecting him to sexual assault. The body of the nine-year-old was recovered from a desert.

After the incident, the then SP of Kalat, Arbab Amjad Ali Khan Kasi, along with DSP Ghulam Hussain Bajoi, SHO Habibullah Nechari and other police officers conduc­ted an operation and arrested the accused. The home minister anno­unced a cash reward of Rs500,000 for the police team.
