LAHORE: A man allegedly shot dead a young model girl on Ring Road in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and surrendered to police along with the pistol he used to kill the girl.

The police arrested the suspect who was later identified as Suleman Nawaz, a resident of Ali Park, Bedian Road.

The 24-year-old model (S) was a resident of Baghbanpura.

A police officer said the suspected killer had ‘relations’ with the girl for the last three years or so and both used to attend some private parties in the posh area of the DHA.

Late on Thursday night, he said, they were going by a car on Ring Road when they had an argument with each other over some issue. He said the suspect shot her in the head, killing her on the spot.

The suspect later drove the car to the local police station with the body on the back seat and surrendered to the police.

The police arrested him and sent him behind bars, the police official said adding the body of the girl was shifted to the city morgue for autopsy.

The police official said apparently it seemed that the girl wanted to marry him but the suspect rejected her proposal due to some reasons best known to him.
