BATTAGRAM: The police on Saturday arrested two persons for assaulting a boy here.

District police officer Tariq Mehmood Khan said the victim, Sohail Ahmed, 15, had reported to the Battagram police station that Shakirullah and Niazullah had asked him in Battagram Bazaar on Sunday last to go with them to bring goats from Kuzabanda village.

He said when they reached Kiargali area the suspects stopped the rickshaw they were travelling in and took him to a deserted area, where Shakirullah held him at gunpoint and Niazullah assaulted him. He said later Shakirullah also tried to assault him but he ran away.

The boy told the police that as he was afraid of both the abusers, he did not tell anyone about the incident. However, he said, he disclosed the incident to his father, who then took him to the police station for registering a case.

DPO Tariq Mehmood said soon after registering FIR, he had formed a team headed by DSP headquarters Sajid Nawaz and SHO Imtiaz Shah to arrest both the suspects.
