Role of performing artistes praised

PESHAWAR, Dec 6: Speakers at a function here appreciated the role of artistes and asked them to portray the problems of people through their work. “The role of performers in dramas are always well-received by the people. Artistes can play their part in purging evils from the society and promoting good values,” said writer Noorul Bashir Naveed at a function held to appreciate the team of Pashto drama serial “Tandar” here on Tuesday.

He said that he was always in pursuit of searching good topics for dramas because the PTV had the potential to reach every house across the country.

About “Tandar,” he said that he had tried his level best to send the message of love, brotherhood and peace through the serial.

Director Syed Masood Ahmad Shah said that it was a joint-team effort that culminated in the success of the drama serial. He said that the performers had worked tirelessly and done justice with their roles.

He said: “To make all the characters powerful and appealing to the people, all the artistes, cameramen and technicians gave their best.”

He said that the Peshawar centre had given excellent dramas within its limited resources.

He said that new equipment, including cameras and VCRs, had been purchased for the centre which would boost its performance.

Actors Javaid Babar, Shazma Haleem, Zahoor Jan and Najeeba Faiz also expressed their comments about the serial. They said that they were glad about the tremendous success of the serial.

“This will enhance our artistic capabilities, which will enable us to work with more vigour and zeal,” they added.

Later, a musical concert was also held. Noor Jehan, Bakhtiar Khattak and others sang songs and received appreciation from the audience.
