ISLAMABAD: Robbers made off with cash and valuables worth millions of rupees and shot and injured a man in 20 strikes, police said on Friday.

In the first incident, gunmen shot and injured a man during a robbery in Sangjani, police said, adding that three robbers held Mohammad Adnan and his father Mohammad Zain, 50, at gunpoint at Sangjani Railway crossing.

However, Mohammad Zain put up resistance during which the robber opened fire on him, they said, adding that as a result he sustained a bullet injury.

The robbers snatched Rs5,000 cash and two mobile phones from them and escaped, the police said.

In another incident a Chinese and his friend were intercepted by a man in F-8/4 and introduced himself as a police official and also showed his ID card, the police said, adding during search for drugs they stole Rs20,000 cash from him.

Furthermore, three robbers snatched Rs225,000 cash and a mobile phone from Naveed Massih in I-10/1 at gunpoint, the police said, adding two robbers deprived Syed Mohsin of Rs10,000 cash and a mobile phone at gunpoint in I-10/4.

Two robbers entered a barber shop in Madina Town and snatched Rs34,500 cash and three mobile phones from three persons at gunpoint, they added.

Moreover, some burglars broke into a house of Mohammad Riaz at Zia Masjid and made off with Rs1.6 million cash, gold ornaments weighing three tolas, the police said.

In a similar incident, some burglars stole gold ornaments weighing 12 tolas, Rs100,000 cash, a motorcycle, an LED, 17 wrist watches, a 12-bore rifle, a 9MM pistol, 53 bottles of perfumes, three cameras including DSLR, an open cheque valuing Rs150,000, 32 suits, 20 cuff links.

Gold ornaments weighing two tolas, Rs15,000 cash, LCD, a laptop, wrist watch and other household articles were stolen from a house in Dhanyal Town, the police said.

A house of Mohammad Ismail in Khizar Town was burgled of Rs70,000 cash, gold ornaments, an LED and other households.

The Islamabad police constable Wajid Ali’s house was robbed of Rs7,000 cash, two police uniforms and two shoes in Mera Abadi.

Meanwhile, a car, eight motorcycles were stolen from G-7, Motorway Chowk, Lake View Park, Bhara Kahu, G-7/1, H-13, and F-10 Markaz.

Besides, culprits snatched a purse, carrying Rs30,000 cash from a woman in D-17, two mobile phones were stolen from Bahadur and Omer Sajad at Latheral Road and G.T. Road , they added.
