TOBA TEK SINGH: Several children were stung by a swarm of honey bees on the premises of the Government Primary School of Chak 67 near Khurrianwala in Jarranwala tehsil of Faisalabad district on Friday.

Rescue 1122 said bees from a school tree hive attacked the children and teachers.

Rescuers treated children with first aid, however, four children and two teachers were shifted to the Shahkot (Sheikhupura) THQ Hospital.

Teachers were Jaffar Hussain 32, and Muhammad Usman, 30, while the four students included Sufyan Naveed, 10, Muhammad Ali, 6, Muhammad Bilal, 12, and Rehan Naseer, 11.

FIRE: A man and three animals were seriously burnt in a fire that broke out on Friday in an outhouse in Faisalabad’s Chak 158-RB.

Rescue 1122 report said someone burnt bushes adjacent to the outhouse which also spread into the outhouse due to strong winds.

Rescue 1122 provided treatment to the injured man and the cattle.

Also, Faisalabad Rescue 1122 report issued on Friday states that during three Eid days, it received 352 calls of accidents, and of them, 248 calls were about motorcycle accidents in which 330 males and 104 females were injured. Four of the injured died instantly.

WHEAT CAMPAIGN: More than 11,000 metric tonnes of wheat were confiscated from hoarders and smugglers in 771 raids and nine FIRs was registered against culprits in four districts of Faisalabad division.

Commissioner Zahid Hussain said this at a meeting to review the implementation of the wheat procurement campaign in the division on Friday.

He said the divisional administration and food department teams took action against hoarders and smugglers.

He said action against flour mills was also underway and 242 notices were served to the millers while licences of three mills had also been cancelled for the hoarding of wheat.

He said so far 112 per cent of gunny bags were issued to the growers while 92pc wheat purchase target had been achieved.
