LAHORE: PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz said on Thursday that despite clear orders of the court, the swearing-in of Hamza Shehbaz as the chief minister of Punjab is being “arrogantly prevented”.

Taking to Twitter, Ms Maryam said that violating the Constitution, law and courts with such arrogance cannot be the work of a normal person.

She lambasted former premier Imran Khan and his Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf party, saying the ‘ghosts of Bani Gala’ should be handled with strictness.

Referring to Punjab being without a CM for the past several days, the PML-N leader said this is a province of 120 million inhabitants, which is not a joke.

Slamming the PTI leadership, she said these “lunatics must be driven into a mental asylum or face serious treason and contempt of court cases”, adding they behaved like children and left the people amazed.

Indirectly referring to PTI’s previous regime, she said the country was being ruled by such “mental and psychiatric patients”.

A day ago, while announcing the verdict on CM-elect Hamza Shehbaz’s petition seeking a direction to the Senate chairman to administer the oath to him, LHC Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti had said that delay in the administration of the oath is a violation of the Constitution.
