PESHAWAR, Dec 5: FIA immigration authorities at the airport arrested one person on Monday who was trying to go to Saudi Arabia on a bogus passport while another person who had travelled from Riyadh on a forged Pakistani passport, was also deported said a senior official.

Gul Mohammad, son of Haji Mohammad, a resident of Samar Bagh (Dir district), was detained by Inspector Tahir Khan Durrani, when the accused presented his passport issued to one Faqir Ali, son of Mohammad Zaman, to the immigration counter, said Assistant Director Immigration Inamullah Khan Gandapur.

Gul Mohammad had a close resemblance with his nephew Faqir Ali and tried to board a Gulf Airline flight to Riyadh via Bahrain and Muscat, the official said.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime and was sent to the FIA passport circle for further interrogation.

Another man, Hussain, son of Mian Gul, was also detained on charges of travelling from Riyadh to Peshawar by Pakistan International Airline flight No PK-754 on a fake Pakistani passport on Monday afternoon, Mr Gandapur said.

The accused travelled from Saudi Arabia to Peshawar on passport No KE-194163 issued to Shah Zamin, son of Mian Gul,

a resident of Malakand, he added.

During interrogation, Hussain confessed that he had changed the picture on the passport and had travelled to Saudi Arabia from the Karachi airport sometime back.

The accused disclosed that he had paid Rs32,000 to an agent Javed, son of Malik Aman, a resident of Dargai (Malakand), for preparing the travel documents, Mr Gandapur said.

The accused was handed over to the passport circle for further investigation, he added.
