SUKKUR: The Sukkur bench of the Sindh High Court on Tuesday overturned conviction of former deputy commissioner, who was sentenced to seven years imprisonment by accountability court on Feb 7 in a corruption reference of Rs64.7 million filed by National Accountability Bureau, Sukkur.
However, the double bench comprising Justices Irshad Husain Khan and Amjad Ali Sahito, rejected applications for review of other officials of Larkana Municipal Corporation (LMC) who were co-accused in the same reference.
The judges heard arguments of NAB prosecutor and counsel for the former deputy commissioner Javed Jagirani before pronouncing the verdict.
