KARACHI, Dec 4: Riding in elegant style, two-year-old bay colt, Fast Burner, obliged the punters by winning the day’s honours in the Winter Gymkhana race meeting at Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

Running in the second race drawn over a sprinting distance of five furlongs, he picked up momentum by enhancing his lead and outclassed all the opponents winning by a good margin of five lengths.

Owned by M Shahrukh, and trained by S Ehtisham, Fast Burner was smartly ridden home by jockey Arshad.

Occupying the second place was Conquest To Conqueror while Super Speed settled for the third place.

Six-year-old Sea Biscuit created quite a stir when he lowered the colours of fancied Royal Lancer by picking up the opening race. Finishing three lengths behind was Royal Lancer while I’M So Happy had to be content with third place.

Jockey Abdul Aziz performed a splendid treble while riding boy Muhammad Essa ended the day with a fine double.

The third race saw Gullu’s Government, a four-year-old bay colt, ridden by jockey Abdul Aziz, winning the honours. He outpaced his nearest opponent three-year-old colt Jawan Bakht, by a wide margin of nine lengths. Sweet Grandy finished third.

Aziz’s other two winners were three-year-old filly, Fantasia, who won top honours in the seventh race by a neck and four-year-old colt, Champion Express in the last by half a length.

Both the horses were owned by M R Hussain and trained by M Pervaiz.

Muhammad Essa sprinted home Janu Janwar and Sharp Cat in two back to back races.
