LAHORE, Dec 4: Punjab and Sindh carved out victories by big margin on the first day of the 14th National baseball championship at Iqbal Park Sports Complex on Sunday.

Punjab defeated NWFP 19-8 in the first match. Sumair Zawar and Usman scored four runs each and Hyder contributed three runs as main scorers.

The match lasted till 6th innings.

Sindh defeated Balochistan 15-7 in the second match. Qanmbar Ali (3), Atif, Azeem, Jawad, and Asad added two runs each.

For Balochistan, Khalid Mahmood scored two runs.

Three more matches will be played on Monday.
