ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA)’s security directorate on Thursday raided the revenue directorate at Iqbal Hall and confiscated several files.
Sources said the raid was conducted on the direction of the CDA management, which had received complaints that several patwaris had been using delaying tactics in deciding the fate of files.
The sources said there were also allegations that the patwaris used delaying tactics in order to get bribe from the citizens.
“Yes, a raid was conducted on Thursday and after scrutiny of the record we will be in a position to say something. If abnormal delay is pointed out in approval of files, we will take action against the concerned officials,” said an officer.
He said some citizens had lodged complaints that their files were deliberately being ignored by patwaris. Irrelevant objections were raised just to delay approval of files.
“The CDA management had directed for confiscating the files. If any sort of wrongdoing is proven, strict disciplinary action will be taken against the revenue officials/patwaris,” the officer said.
