LAHORE: Inspector General of Punjab Police Rao Sardar Ali Khan has issued orders to dismiss three deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) on charges of abuse of power and corruption.
A spokesperson for the Punjab police said the process of departmental accountability has been intensified to eliminate the black sheep involved in illegal activities. He said the IG dismissed DSPs Saifullah Bhatti and Ahmed Sajjad Cheema on corruption charges.
DSP Saifullah Bhatti posted at Chiniot and DSP Ahmed Sajjad Cheema in Faisalabad used to shelter oil theft gangs. The involvement of the officials was revealed during interrogation of the arrested criminals.
During posting in Nankana Sahib, DSP Ziarat Ali Khan had forged the signature of chairman district standing board and changed the investigation of a murder case.
