LARKANA, Dec 3: Protesting against proposed construction of the Kalabagh dam and other anti-Sindh projects by the federal government, activists of the Sindh People’s Students Federation (Shaheed Bhutto group) and its youth wing took out a procession here on Saturday.

The protest procession started from the Al-Murtaza house.

Chanting slogans, carrying banners and placards they marched on the main roads of city.

They assembled outside the Jinnah Bagh, blocked road and burnt tyres.

Speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Rasool Umrani, Waheed Junejo, Khalique Junejo, Qadir Aheer and Altaf Malgani criticized the government for constructing Kalabagh dam against wishes of the people of Sindh.

They called for dropping the project.

They said that instead of converting jails into seat of reforms the government had transformed them into a torture cell.

They said the government covering up its ill-planning and fast eroding popularity had created the Kalabagh dam issue.

They said that sky-rocketing prices of commodities and rising graph of unemployment had forced people to commit suicide.

They called for giving up the plan of constructing Kalabagh dam and winding up all anti-Sindh projects.

STPP: Activists of the Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party on Saturday voicing against proposed water projects, boycotted the regular classes in the Government Degree College Larkana.
