RAHIM YAR KHAN: A team of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Monday seized a large quantity of unhygienic juices near Wahi Shah Muhammad on Shahbazpur Road, some 10km from here.

PFA spokesperson Waqar said a team headed by director operations (south Punjab) raided a hidden production unit where substandard juice was being packed in tetra packs of a famous brand.

The PFA team recovered 7,000 litres of juice and 40-kg artificial glucose and later disposed it.

The juice was being prepared with chemicals and artificial flavours.

The team imposed a fine of Rs200,000 on the suspect.
