RAWALPINDI, Dec 2: Pakistan army engineers have started a ferry service in the Patika area of Muzaffarabad and have set up two foot suspension bridges at Patika and Mandal to provide facility to people.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), repair work on three bridges near Patika and Ghori, which were badly damaged in the Oct 8 earthquake, was continuing.

Meanwhile, 520 construction teams of army engineers have so far constructed 30,000 shelter homes with the help of CGI sheets and wooden frames. Another 10,000 shelters in district Bagh have been constructed by locals on self-help basis.

In the suburbs of Muzaffarabad, 26 teams have constructed 622 shelters. Another 44 teams have constructed 599 temporary homes in the Neelum Valley.
