RAWALPINDI: In order to improve traffic flow in the garrison city, heavy vehicles will now enter Rawalpindi after 10pm instead of 7pm from Monday to Saturday, while permission will be granted till 5pm on Sunday.
This decision was taken in a meeting on heavy traffic management chaired by Station Commander Brig Salman Nazar and Commissioner Noorul Amin Mengal.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Tahir Farooq, Regional Transport Authority Secretary Rashid Ali, Noman Butt of Oil Tankers Contractors Association and representatives of goods transporters. About 160 vehicles come to petrol stations in the city to supply oil.
