LAHORE, Dec 1: PPP MPAs distributed sweets in the Punjab Assembly on Thursday to celebrate acquittal of party chairperson Benazir Bhutto in a reference by a NAB court in Karachi the other day. Raja Riaz Ahmad, Samiullah Khan, Riaz Shahid and others distributed sweets among almost all staff and visitors, hoping that other references against her would meet the same fate.

Meanwhile, a “facts sheet” issued by party’s media adviser Iqbal Sialvi regrets that the government could not provide shelter to quake victims despite a lapse of around two months.

It termed Islamabad donors’ conference a failure as neither any prominent foreign personality attended it nor sufficient aid was promised.

It regretted that the government had failed to maintain law and order as citizens had been left at the mercy of robbers, kidnappers and killers.
