DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The third All Breeds Dog and Pets Gala began at the Atif Shaheed Park here on Tuesday.

Pakistan Kennel Union, Indus Dog Club, World Kennel Union and Pakistan Army jointly organised the show.

A variety of high quality pets, cats, parrots and roosters were brought to the gala. Prizes and trophies were also distributed among the position holders.

Over 100 high-breed Alsatians, Labradors, Afghan hounds, bull mastiff, Shih Tzu, Rottweiler, cocker spaniel, Kochi and poodle breeds participated in the gala.

Dr Zeeshan’s German shepherd from Mianwali came first and Hamza Habib’s Afghan hound of Chakwal bagged the second position.

In junior level, Haider Ali Gilani’s bullmastiff won the first position, while Alsatians of Ehsan Dhap, Fazal Wazir, Zubair, Haris Mehsud, Osama, Rehman Khan and Imran from Bhakkar and Omar Saduzai’s labrador also got prominent positions.

The roosters of Mohammad Irtaza Marwat and Aamir Khan got positions.

The macaw parrot was also the focus of the show.

Ten locally-made jeeps were also brought to the gala, one of which had also won the recently-held Derajat Off-Road Challenge Jeep Rally competitions. The jeep owner, Tahir Jan Khan was given away a special trophy and shield.
