ABBOTTABAD, Nov 30: The Pakistan Army has built at least 3,310 temporary shelters in the Siran Valley in Mansehra and Balakot while work on 1,726 more such shelters is in full swing and will be completed soon. A press note issued by deputy director information, Hazara, said the army had started removing the debris in the Main Balakot Bazaar and other markets with the help of local people.

The army is also providing GI sheets to needy people and helping locals to erect one-room houses. The helicopter service, which had been suspended due to bad weather, has been resumed and food is being supplied to quake-affected areas, the handout said.

A sufficient stock of food is now available at almost all points. The issuance of ration cards has begun and work is gaining momentum, it added.—Correspondent
