DERA GHAZI KHAN: Traders on Wednesday staged a protest against the sales tax registration and imposition of point of sale (POS) device by the Federal Bureau of Revenue.

On the call of Pakistan Anjuman-i-Tajiran Chairman Khwaja Muhammad Shafiq and Supreme Council south Punjab, the Central Anjuman-i-Tajiran Dera Ghazi Khan held a strike led by District President Sheikh Muhammad Naqib, Chairman Muhammad Kashif Siddique and Haji Muhammad Zubair Nizami.

The traders staged demonstrations along Quaid-i-Azam Road, Sarafa Bazaar, Rani Bazaar and took out a rally up to Committee Golai Chowk.

Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Naqib said if the decision of tax registration and installation of point of sale device was not withdrawn, the scope of protest would be widened and sit-ins would be staged across the country.

President Sarafa Bazaar Muhammad Safdar Khattak demanded that the government immediately withdraw the FBR ordinance.
