SUKKUR: A large number of Awami Tehreek workers and rights activists, on Saturday, joined a protest demonstration launched by a female teacher who was booked for reporting alleged harassment by an official of education department.
Biometric in-charge Arsalah Dahani filed an FIR against Fehmeeda Khoso who along with her family staged protest two days ago, alleging that the in-charge harassed her while she came for biometric attendance in Government Girls and Boys School in Bahadur Khoso village, Tangwani town of Kandhkot-Kashmore district.
Talking to the journalists at Tangwani press club, Awami Tehreek district president Munzoor Khoso along with general secretary Nawaz Bapar and Advocate Asif Taj demanded immediate withdrawal of the ‘fake’ case registered against the female teacher and quick action against the biometric in-charge.
“Sindh government has completely failed to protect working females in Sindh province,” said protesters.
The protestors claimed that biometric in-charge not only harassed her, but also had the female teacher and her husband arrested through a ‘fake’ FIR at area police station.
“Police seem totally unprofessional in conducting fair inquiry and rather arrested those who are victims,” activists lashed out at police method of investigation.
They said that it had become a practice in Sindh to stage a protest for the legitimate rights because police do not bother to come out of the stations unless they receive phone call from political, social and influential figures.
