GUJRANWALA, Nov 29: On the orders of IGP Maj Ziaul Hassan (retired), scrutiny of driving licences has been started. Reports said traffic police had formed a board, comprising two DSPs, for re-test of drivers in six districts.

At a meeting held here on Tuesday with traffic SP Asghar Saeed Paul in the chair, a criterion to this effect was finalized.

The meeting decided that driving licences of Gujranwala, Gujrat and Sialkot would be scrutinized and test would be taken for three days in a week. The scrutiny of all licence holders of LTV, PSV of Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal and Hafizabad will be conducted for two days in Gujranwala.

Board members Shaheen Humayun and Muhammad Nadeem Butt said test would be taken on merit.

Transporters’ ‘adda’ managers and senior officers of the traffic police were also present in the meeting.
