LAHORE: The information and culture department will hold an event to mark ‘Baloch Culture Day’ to highlight and celebrate the rich culture of Balochistan on March 2 at Alhamra Art Centre, The Mall.

The colourful event will feature dance and music performances.

Lahore Arts Council (LAC) Executive Director Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi said that preparations for the event were in full swing.

He said Baloch culture was one of the great and ancient cultures of the world.

To mark the day, stalls of Balochi costumes and other traditional items would also be set up at Alhamra. Besides that, on Monday (Feb 28), Alhamra will hold a musical evening featuring young upcoming singers under the title ‘Rising Stars’.

The council has recorded 30 songs sung by new singers which would also be released by the LAC.
