ISLAMABAD: Robbers looted $200,000 from a businessman in the high security zone of the capital on Monday.

Police said four men in a car intercepted and held up the businessman, who deals in vehicles, at gunpoint on Third Avenue near a police picket.

The gunmen snatched a bag containing the amount from the businessman’s car and escaped.

When contacted, Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Mohammad Faisal told Dawn that the robbery victim was going to the Saudi embassy when he was robbed.

He said police had launched an investigation and collected footage of CCTV cameras installed on the route and were examining them to trace the robbers.
