QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Balochistan, has arrested one of the directors of fraudulent company 3-Alliance Bolan Motors (Pvt) Ltd from Karachi.

“The company is involved in billions of rupees’ motorcycles’ scam,” a spokesman for NAB said here on Monday.

NAB officials produced the accused in an accountability court, headed by Judge Allah Dad Roshan.

The judge remanded Kamran Anjum Abidi to NAB’s custody for eight days’ physical remand.

The accused had been hiding since issuance of his arrest warrants by the accountability court.

NAB sources said that 3-Alliance Bolan Motors (Pvt) Ltd, headed by accused Kashif Qamar, had allegedly deprived thousands of people of their hard-earned billions of rupees on the promise of providing them with new motorcycles on a fixed monthly profit.

On receiving complaints from a large number of people, the NAB Balochistan launched an investigation into the scam.

During the probe, it was revealed that 3-Alliance Bolan Motors (Pvt) Ltd chief Kashif Qamar and its franchise owner associated with the company had deprived thousands of people of billions of rupees.

“The management of 3-Alliance company lured the general public through social media and other platforms for investment of their money and the company through its franchises booked thousands of motorcycles and issued receipts to the people who had invested billions of rupees with them,” NAB officials said.

The company gave profit to the investors for some time, but three years ago, main accused Kashif Qamar and all directors of the fake company suddenly disappeared after winding up the firm.

“They deprived the people of Quetta and other areas of Balochistan of around Rs7 billion,” NAB sources said, adding that on complaints of the people who had submitted their claims with authorities concerned, NAB started investigation and after completing the investigation filed the case against 25 people, including the owner of the company.

Six accused of the case — Nadeem Jaga, Ahmed Jan, Jalat Khan, Shadi Khan, Shahid Gill and Syed Mir — have been arrested by NAB so far.

Efforts were under way to arrest the main accused, Kashif Qamar, the owner of the company, NAB sources said.
