KARACHI: A female student of Karachi University was killed and three others were injured when their fast-moving car hit another vehicle from behind near Do Darya, Seaview, in the wee hours of Sunday morning, police said.

Sahil SHO Pir Shabbir Haider said that four foreign students were travelling in a Passo car on Abdul Sattar Edhi Avenue at around 1.45am. Their car hit a Revo vehicle from behind opposite DHA Office in Phase-VIII.

All of them suffered critical injuries and were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where doctors pronounced Omi Omalkar, 21, dead. She was a citizen of Somalia.

Three others — Elvan, 22, Guden Charles, 21, and Nels Moosa, 22 — got admitted for treatment. They belonged to Kenya.

The SHO said all the four were students of the University of Karachi.

The police registered a case on behalf of the state and initiated investigations.
