RAWALPINDI: Two girls were raped by a man in the restroom of the Cantonment General Hospital.

Safdar Hussain told Cantt police that his nine-year-old daughter and 11-year-old niece sold balloons on the street to support their families.

He said the girls left their houses on Friday but did not return. He said they became concerned and started searching for the girls and later found them weeping at Hathi Chowk.

He said the girls told them that they were selling balloons when the suspect, Ghulam Murtaza, lured them to the washroom of the hospital and raped them.

He said after the incident was reported to the police, the victims were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital for medical examination which led to the arrest of the suspect.
