RAWALPINDI: The cashier of a petrol filling station was shot and injured while three other people were robbed of cash and other valuables on Monday.
The petrol station’s manager, Shujaur Rehman, told police that he and the cashier, Abdul Razzaq, was on his way to a bank to deposit Rs1.6 million when they were intercepted by three motorcycle riders.
He said they tried to escape but were chased by the suspects and Razzaq was shot during the pursuit.
Furthermore, Mohammad Haris, a trader who works at Narankari Bazaar, was also robbed of cash at gunpoint near Ganjmandi area.
In another incident, Aqib Banaras and Nawaz Chaudhry were robbed of their mobile phones and cash by four unidentified gunmen in Wah Cantonment.
Abdul Rehman, a night watchman, told Sadiqabad police that he was on duty at a phone tower when three unidentified persons entered and held him at gunpoint.
He said the gunmen stole seven dry batteries and escaped.
Zain Kabeer, a resident of Sadiqabad, complained to the police that he was on his way home when he was intercepted by two persons who escaped with his motorcycle.
